Yes there’s plenty of snow… but with a continuous temp of 40plus the snow melts pretty fast

This is the trail by www.fourseasonscabins.com plenty of snow for a late season ride still this winter.

Do you guys know if Gaylord has snow in the trails?

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 3/8/25
Good morning all!
Wanted to share these pics from Nathan and Dennis after they split the run down 49 from the Soo to Kinross.
As I’ve been saying, it’s very thin as you go south of about 9 mile. It’s also VERY wet, and now probably very icy as it is 8 degrees.
They smoothed out what they could so that it could freeze smooth instead of rutted up, but it’s pretty rough.
Again, the Soo and west to Brimley, Raco and beyond faired much better.
We wanted to be sure to show you the worst of the worst so that you know what you’re in for south of the Soo.
Thank you Dennis and Nathan! #soo #snowphotos

Ended up doing a video out on the Fire Steel Bridges (I was forced into it). I ran down and met Todd and the gang at The Pit Stop Bar & Grill in Greenland. Then we shot up to Alston. Trails where in pretty good shape early on but like every day was getting rough after 5:00. The reroute on trail 3 in Twin Lakes was brutal. Those aren't moguls they're more like small mountains. Lol
Thank you Pat's Motorsports for getting Todd back on the trail. It would have been a long walk back to Negaunee.

We wanted to make sure that you have a clear picture of what this trail looks like after the rain the other day. As you can see, there is water along the sides of the trail and on the trail in places. They did what they could with it, but it’s late season conditions until we get more snow.

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 3/7/25
Good morning!
We have light snow falling in the Soo. We’ll take all that we can get to cover up the icy base from the rain event the other day. We’ve had groomers out everywhere except trail 49 from the Soo to Kinross, 49 south of M80, and 494 also in kinross. The snow is just too thin down that way, and we’ll do more harm than good until we get more snow. It’s also pretty icy after all of the rain.
Also a heads up- there was a timber sale and there will be logging on 49 near Wilson Rd south of M80 in Kinross. They usually leave a base for snowmobilers, but please use caution. This trail has not been groomed due to low snow/icy conditions as it is.
Thanks all! Rider pics and reports are always welcome!
We’ll keep updating!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails >> A full run was made last night. The trail was really drifted in spots from the storm. We did what we could. It may not hold up great today because of all the soft snow, but after tonight's groom, it should be really good. There are some bad water spots between Carlsend and Little Lake to watch out for. They can be rather deep as well. Please use caution in this area. There were many sleds out riding last night, and I am sure there will be plenty more over the weekend. Please be safe out there as it looks to be a busy weekend. Other than the water spots, the trail is looking really good. Ride right, lead right, have fun, and be safe out there. #munising #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

Hey guys!
Turbo and Diane hit 472 out of Kinross west to the Spile Dam on 480.
They will have pics for us too, but wanted to share the video for now. They saw some pretty saturated areas, especially between Johnson Rd and Centerline Rd on 472. Please use extra caution as there is water over the trail here. They stayed out of there to prevent making it worse.
This trail was very rough due to not being groomed for a few days while we had the warm up and rain. They did the best that they could with it, and we’ll share pics when they get back and settled. It’s going to be far from perfect, but definitely much improved!

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Scott's Superior Inn and Cabins >> A fresh dumping of snow has hit the Ontonagon and Porcupine Mountains area this week, with some spots reporting over 20 inches of new snowfall! This has provided a much-needed refresh to the trails, creating a fantastic base for riding.
Trail Conditions:
Groomers are working tirelessly to catch up with the heavy snowfall. With this much fresh powder, it may take a couple of days to get everything fully packed and smoothed out, but riders can still expect excellent conditions across the Western U.P. Some trails may be a bit soft until grooming efforts are complete, so plan accordingly and ride with caution.
What to Expect:
Plenty of fresh snow for great riding.
Groomers running regularly, but some trails may still be in progress.
Watch for deep snow in ungroomed sections and be prepared for changing conditions.
Cold temps should help maintain trail quality in the coming days.
This is shaping up to be one of the best weekends for riding this season, so get out and enjoy the fresh powder while it lasts! As always, ride safe, respect private property, and support the local businesses that keep our trail system alive.
For up-to-date trail conditions, be sure to check with local clubs and grooming reports.
